Shells at the harbor park at Barnegat

Daydreaming about a summers’ day at the beach. This morning, i saw gulls circling overhead — going for takeout from the dumpsters at the restaurants that are quite a bit to the east, but still way inland. Something about the silhouette of a shorebird against a blue sky made me think about June and standing on hot sand and broken shells, looking at the ocean swell and fall.

Thinking about the ocean and summer has not made me appreciate the dirty drifts of snow one bit. I am so lucky not to live in Chicago or somewhere that was hit badly by the recent storms.
